"With each breathwork and meditation session with Kari, I become more attuned to the possibilities within myself. I experience my body and mind opening, releasing and relaxing.

I leave each session with energy, courage, and profound hope, a knowing that empowers me throughout my day. Although I have practiced yoga for many years, this practice has more significantly opened me to even more clarity, self compassion and connection to others.”

We can’t always wait for the chance to escape to a Himalayan cave or chant by the Ganges or take a silent retreat away to restore mental clarity, energy, inner steadiness, and connection to Self.

We need the gifts meditation brings right here right now, in daily life.

A consistent morning meditation practice activates clear, focused and radiant energy to set the tone for your day. Breathwork techniques enliven and balance your vital energy and can open access to deeper meditative states.

NEW IN-PERSON (OR VIRTUAL) SERIES :
Develop or Enliven Your Daily Meditation Practice

The series will be 4 weeks on Tuesday evenings : May 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 7:15-8:30pm at my office at 1626 Union Street with a maximum of 8 people in person, and an additional 4 spots for the livestream option.

This series is designed for those who wish to develop or enliven a daily meditation practice that you can lean on for inner stability and peace, that guides you to a dynamic stillness and presence within yourself.

I have been meditating since childhood and teaching since 2000. Meditation continues to be a primary gift in my life, a source of stability, luminosity, wisdom and growth. In recent years I have deepened my own practice considerably with the guidance of my teacher and two more visits to India.

The meditation I teach is breathwork and mantra-based, and accessible to everyone.

Each week we will have check in time, engage in new learning and discussion, and meditate together. I’ll record the class each week to support your practicing on your own between classes.

PRIVATE SESSIONS

Join me for private sessions to develop a steady and fulfilling practice.

One pathway to begin is a package of:

  1. an initial consultation to discuss your experiences and what energy you would like to balance, cultivate and deepen

  2. an in-person or Zoom session in which I teach you a set of breath and kriya practices based on our consultation

  3. a video I make for you of your practices so you can practice regularly with that support.

SMALL GROUP CLASSES

Private group and 1:1 sessions are available in person at my Union Street office and on Zoom.

In practice together, we utilize the powerful tools of asana, pranayama, kriya, mudra, and mantra to open a direct path to a deep and dynamic stillness. Here we can connect with Self, and bathe in this illuminating field of insight, presence and ease.

Come sit with me and learn these ancient yet ever relevant techniques to support you in surfing the ongoing experiential journey of life.

A bit more about my personal journey…

I have practiced meditation for over 30 years. While I formally began with transcendental meditation at age 18, I recall much earlier memories of loving to sit quietly in the meditation garden at my grade school.

My 20s brought my first trip to India, a yoga practice, Vipassana (Insight/Mindfulness) studies and chanting with Tara Brach, as well as a decade of intense work and travel, and the launch of my lifelong commitment to the path of spiritual awakening.

My 30s brought motherhood and a professional shift into the healing arts centering on women’s health through meditation, yoga, massage, birth preparation, and women’s circles. I studied Tibetan Buddhist meditation and compassionate healing practices with Robert Newman and began to teach the Calm Birth and Calm Parents meditation and relaxation techniques.

My 40s brought a second spiritual journey to India and an expansion into leading yoga and meditation retreats, meditating through the lineage and teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda and Self Realization Fellowship, and devoted study of the Yoga Sutras with Kate Holcombe and of Bhakti yoga with Jai Uttal and Nubia Teixeira.

My 50s have continued to bring sacred deepening with a return to India and immersive study and practice with Anand Mehrotra (Himalayan Sattva Yoga), whom I consider my Teacher with a capital T.

The greatest gift of meditation to me is the direct experience of higher consciousness and communion with the Divine. I delight in holding sacred space for others on their journey to a tranquil inner temple, transformation, and Self-discovery.
